Ever wondered where money comes from? Take the kids to The Royal Mint Experience, one of the UK's most fascinating attractions, and witness the UK’s coins being made. The shiny silver and gold coins you watch being produced during your visit will enter circulation, and may very well end up in your pocket next week.
You’ll start off with a 45-minute guided tour of the factory, which produces the staggering 750 coins a minute. Want to have a go at coin-making? You can strike your own coins for a small fee! Once the tour is over, you are welcome to explore the interactive exhibition featuring 6 fascinating zones. Take the chance to delve into the Royal Mint’s history and lift a 400oz Gold Bar.

By Car
The Royal Mint Experience is located in Llantrisant, South Wales, and is easily accessible via the M4. Exit at Junction 34 and follow the A4119 towards Llantrisant. Brown tourism signs will guide you directly to the attraction. Free on-site parking is available.
By Train
The nearest major station is Pontyclun, around 5 miles from the Royal Mint. From Cardiff Central, it's a short 15–20 minute journey to Pontyclun. Taxis are available at the station, or you can pre-book a cab to reach the attraction.
By Bus
Take bus route 122 (Cardiff – Tonypandy via Talbot Green) or X32 from Cardiff, both of which stop at Talbot Green. From Talbot Green, it’s a short taxi ride to the Royal Mint Experience (approx. 2 miles). Bus services are operated by Stagecoach South Wales.
